Welcome from the PTO!

The 2011-2012 school year at Fiske is underway! Our PTO community is about families working together toward a common goal; to create an exceptional school and educational experience for our children.

Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our schools with the funds, programs and resources that will enrich the education of our students. To meet this objective we have wonderful fundraising events including the "Wild West Round Up" in early fall and the tremendously successful biannual Fiske Auction (to be held on March 23, 2012…details later). We also raise needed funds through PTO dues and the Original Works program, which showcases your child's artwork. These important fundraisers allow our PTO to fully fund our amazing Creative Arts program and provide needed educational technologies. We also encourage parents to collect and send in BoxTops, which raise additional funds for our school. This year we will continue our Green Team Initiative to help make our school an even "greener" place to be.and focus on upgrading the technology in our "specials" rooms.

 

 

The Fiske PTO also helps by providing opportunities for families to foster community spirit, to connect with one another and to communicate and receive pertinent information.Every family receives a Directory, compliments of the PTO. Extra copies are available for purchase in the Fiske office for $5 if you should need one (for the car!). Another important resource is the PTO website which can be found at www.FiskePTO.org. We will continue to provide online purchases of Wild West t-shirts, Fiske Wearables, fundraising information and a connection to the WPS Central Calendar. Look for the Monday Memo, which is an e-mail supplement to the Fiske Family Bulletin and updates from news@FiskePTO.org. The Fiske Family Bulletin is online at www.wellesley.k12.ma.us or available in hard copy from the Fiske Office on Fridays.

Another way to connect with the Fiske community is to join your fellow grown-ups for the evening at the PTO Grade-Wide Socials. The Grade-Wide Socials are a wonderful opportunity to meet new parents from your grade or see the ones you've known for years! We also look forward to our annual Bingo Night and the Multicultural Festival which is an incredible event celebrating all of our wonderful cultures here at Fiske. We plan on having an exciting year and hope you will join us at as many events and gatherings as you can.

There are so many ways to work together towards our common goal, but we can only achieve it through your participation, no matter how big or small the commitment. We encourage you to attend PTO meetings and to keep in touch through emails or phone calls.
